A royal rejection has left shopkeepers and business people fed up over delays over their new town sign.
The £3,250 sign, spearheaded by Frinton Chamber of Trade, failed to gain royal approval as it included the royal coat of arms, which is not allowed.
The town has to wait three months while it is redesigned before it can be installed.
Members at a chamber meeting said it was a pity the sign would not now be up for the summer.
