Colchester's Early Retirers' Club is set to celebrate its first birthday.
Auctioneers and valuers Bonhams will be presenting an antiques quiz at the club's birthday celebrations on Friday, May 9, at Colchester's new business centre in George Williams Way.
The club's plan for this year include launching a new club in the Clacton area in the autumn.
"We know there is a huge demand for the kind of free, quality services which the club can offer to the early retired community in Clacton and throughout the wider Tendring area," said club organiser, Chris Proffitt.
The club was launched last spring with a three-month trial sponsored by the Colchester Business Centre, and by sponsorship from Business Link for Essex.
The Colchester Early Retirers' Club aims to target people who had retired earlier than they expected and who are not looking for another full-time job.
Mr Proffitt added: "We will continue to develop our programme which is aimed at showing early retirers the many opportunities which are available to them, now they have more time."
