Fans favourite Alan White says he is ready to give Colchester United manager Phil Parkinson a perfect end of season send-off.
And experienced midfielder Bobby Bowry won't be far behind him.
Charismatic central defender White told the Evening Gazette today: "The gaffer offered me a new contract two or three weeks ago and I am looking to sign it in the next few days.
Ready to stay: Alan White wants to commit himself to the U's
"I want to sign up again and get it out of the way.
"I love playing for Colchester and I love the town, so much so that I'm selling my house in Luton to buy another one here."
White said he has never felt better about his football since the frustrating times earlier in the season when he was left on the substitutes' bench after a series of poor results.
"My confidence is sky high under the new gaffer," White said. "He is very good at motivating players and a great one-to-one person."
Bowry echoed White's words and said: "It's nice to know the club wants me to stay and I am nearer to signing than many others - sometime in the next two weeks."
