The death of a woman whose body was found at her Colchester home is no longer thought to be suspicious.
An investigation was launched after the 61-year-old was found dead with injuries at the home she shared with her partner in Almond Way in the Greenstead area of the town.
Blood was found on an internal door and the death was at first treated as suspicious because, an Essex Police spokesman said, the circumstances were "unusual".
But after examining the scene, officers were today no longer treating the death as suspicious.
A post-mortem examination was due to be carried out.
