The boot of Mark Sexton kicked Rochford Hundred to a share of the Essex Cup after an epic final clash with Brentwood.
A full-blooded encounter saw five men sin-binned, Rochford's Tom Ashton taken to hospital and a Hundred try disallowed, but in the end stand-off Sexton's penalty in the second period of extra time was what denied Brentwood victory.
He had earlier completed two kicks in the first half of normal time as his side opened a six-point lead - they were 6-3 up at the interval as their pack forced the pace, with Norris, Brian Hounsell and Barry Eldred outstanding.
It was also before the break that Rochford saw their 'try' ruled out when Luke Irvine linked with Matt Barber who looked to have completed wonderful score in the corner, but had just stepped into touch.
Eldred and Hounsell were the Rochford players sin-binned after the break, while Andy Badger and Ryan Stephenson left the field injured, as Brenwood levelled at 6-6 at the end of 80 minutes.
Hundred were behind for the first time when their rivals kicked another three-pointer, but Sexton ensured a share of the spoils with a sweetly struck penalty.
