The Southend and District Wednesday League officially died last night - at the age of 98.
The competition has been disbanded due to the lack of competing teams - only four clubs finished the current league season.
The winding up of the league and associated Midweek Charity Competition was carried out by the Management Committee at a meeting held in Victoria Avenue, Southend.
The last ever League Cup final will now take place a week today at Eastwoodbury Lane with the final Charity clash being the following Wednesday.
Basildon Post Office, who have already won both the Championship and Ron Lamkin Cup, contest both games against The Old Ship.
