A celebration to mark Guglielmo Marconi's birthday has been held in Chelmsford.
International Marconi Day was held at the Sandford Mill museum in the town to celebrate the birth of the radio pioneer.
Special radio stations with a Marconi connection were set up for 24 hours and radio amateurs across the world competed to contact as many of them as they could.
Three were set up at Sandford Mill, which was also open to the public, who were able to have a look at the Marconi collections.
