An auction of bicycles will be among the attractions at this year's Little Haven Bike ride in Chelmsford, which is taking place on Sunday, May 11.
Around a dozen bikes will be available to be sold off to raise funds for Little Haven Children's Hospice. The extra fundraising initiative is being made possible thanks to a collaboration between the Chelmsford Environment Partnership and The Inside Out Trust.
The trust works with inmates at Chelmsford Prison to re-condition bicycles and through the scheme bicycles are being made available for people who would like to take part in the Little Haven bike ride but do not own a bicycle.
The bikes will be on show on the day for offers to be made in a silent auction.
Anyone interested in using one of the bicycles for the ride is asked to contact the CEP Travelshare Co-ordinator on 01245 268782.
Last year more than 400 people took part in the Little Haven Bike Ride and the event raised a grand total of £6,000.
It is hoped this year's ride, organised by Little Haven in conjunction with the Chelmer Cycling Club, will be a record breaker to provide even more support to the hospice.
