Darren Bent has described as 'shocking' the boo-boys who turned on two of his team-mates at Ipswich Town.
Keeper Andy Marshall and midfielder Jermaine Wright were targeted by a minority of fans during Saturday's dismal 5-1 routing by Wimbledon.
But substitute Bent, who headed the consolation goal, told the Evening Gazette: "Andy and Jamma are both quality players.
"Everyone makes mistakes but barracking them is hardly going to help their confidence.
"Andy, especially, felt he'd turned a corner with the fans and had been playing so well since his clean-sheet at Norwich.
"Now this has happened and I feel really sorry for them both because they've been made scapegoats.
"These so-called fans must feel ashamed of themselves because they should be 100 per cent behind anyone wearing an Ipswich shirt."
