One of the most popular restaurants in Southend has announced plans for expansion.
Tomassi's, one of the town's longest established businesses, is to be extended to a neighbouring shop to keep up with the demand of customers.
This is just the latest extension to the restaurant, which was established in 1932 by Antony's grandfather, Pasquale Tomassi.
Antony Tomassi, 48, owner of the High Street restaurant said: "Due to demand we've had to purchase the property next door."
Tomassi's seats around 330 customers and employs 45 staff, including 12 chefs.
The renovations should be finished in six weeks.
