A clothes shop in Maldon is set to get some new accessories when mobile phone giant Orange fixes two antennae to the High Street's Peppermint store.
Members of Maldon District Council's central area committee on Wednesday night approved plans for the development, after Orange claimed there would be a "coverage deficiency" when two other sites become redundant in the next 12 months.
In a report to committee members, Orange claimed there were other sites in the area available, but all the buildings were listed.
Maldon Town Council objected to the proposal, because members felt it would create a "detrimental impact on the street scene", but the conservation officer had no objections, provided the antennae and exposed feeder cables are painted black.
