East Thurrock United Ladies landed three points to take them into second place in the Essex Women's League Premier Division and sending Rochford Town down into Division One.
Rocks opened the scoring against a strong wind with a 35-yard shot from Jayde Mullen after 15 minutes.
However, a lack of concentration meant Thurrock allowed Rochford to pull the score back to 1-1 just before half time.
The second-half started brightly with Rocks going close on a number of occasions.
In the 50th minute Thurrock bought on top striker Vicci Pritchard who turned the game when she took the ball from the halfway line, beating two players in a 40-yard run and calmly slotting the ball past the Rochford keeper.
Thurrock continued to pile on the pressure and Kelly Taylor produced some good work down the right wing when she sent over a looping cross which deceived the keeper and Pritchard was there to head home to make it 3-1.
