Police have again urged motorists to lock property out of sight when they park their cars.
Over the last few weeks there have been a number of incidents where cars have been broken into and property stolen from inside, in and around the Rayleigh area.
Sgt Kevin Diable-White said in every case, the stolen property had been left on view in the car. The incidents had
happened in the car parks of shopping areas, parks and open spaces.
There had even been cases of parents leaving their cars for a few minutes while collecting their children from school, before returning to find they had been broken into.
Damage was usually caused in the incidents.
