Canvey Island's bid for Ryman League title glory may be over for another year, but it's still likely to be celebration time at Park Lane tomorrow as the club stage their last home game of the campaign.
The match, with already-relegated Enfield, will be preceeded by Gulls' supporters presenting the award to their player of the year with last season's recipient Lee Boylan and midfield hero Jeff Minton the favourites to battle for the crown.
Out on the pitch Jeff King's men should pick up the three points needed to confirm their runners-up spot for the third year running.
And it will be a major surprise if they don't collect the two goals needed to take them through the 100 barrier in the league this season.
Boylan himself is just two goals away from the 43 total he managed last term and, with two Premier matches and a Ryman Bryco Cup final to come with Yeading at Hornchurch on May 5, his finally tally might not be far of the half-century mark.
While missing out to Aldershot is obviously a major disappointment, Canvey are determined to ensure that what has generally been another top-class season doesn't end on a low note.
