A £26m housing development on the former Tabor High School site, just outside Braintree town centre, is rising quickly.
Fairview Homes is building 91 houses, 46 two-bedroom apartments and 39 sheltered homes on the site which, before Tabor High, was home to Margaret Tabor comprehensive school.
Fairview has also built a new roundabout in Panfield Road at the junction of Coldnailhurst Avenue to counter increased traffic flows and improve what is already a busy area at peak times.
Fairview marketing manager Dave Reed said that the apartments would be available for sale later this year. Building completion was due at the end of next year.
Fairview already has a marketing suite on site, but homes prices have not been finalised.
