A desperate plea was today made to yobs to stop vandalising a private ambulance station before it starts affecting patients' lives.
Workers at Caring for You Ambulance Service only moved into their new premises in Benfleet High Street last month, but have already suffered repeated attacks.
In the latest incident, hooligans smashed 15 of the building's windows leaving staff with no choice but to order wire mesh to protect them.
This followed a similar attack the night before when 20 windows were broken.
John Donovan, from the ambulance service, said they were furious people could stoop so low and attack an ambulance station.
He said: "It is more like down town New York around here than sleepy Benfleet.
"We are under siege and what these yobs are doing is disgusting."
