Merchant Navy veterans from Harwich are going to Liverpool to mark the 60th anniversary of the Battle of the Atlantic.
The Merchant Navy Association Harwich and District Branch will be in Liverpool from May 2-5 to attend a commemoration service on May 4 at Liverpool's Anglican Cathedral.
After the service, there will be a march past and a ceremony to unveil a commemorative plaque at the cenotaph.
This will be followed by a civic luncheon given by the Lord Mayor of Liverpool, which the Harwich branch's president Jeff Spall and Atlantic veteran Bob Kirk will be attending.
Also going to Liverpool will be members of the Royal Naval Association Harwich and Royal Naval Association Ipswich.
