Health advisers in Southend will be brazenly guilty of sex discrimination next Tuesday, when they hold an information day for men only.
The town's primary care trust is getting together with the leisure services department and the British Heart Foundation to provide a range of health checks, fitness testing and advice at Southend Civic Centre.
In a bid to get men along - statistics show that they are notoriously bad at getting their health checked out - organisers are billing "Nellie, the Naughty Nurse" as one of the day's star attractions.
Also there will be other nurses, health workers and qualified staff from the leisure services department to discuss visitors' concerns.
Already, Southend mayor Alan Crystall and members of the Southend United football team have signed up to appear.
The event runs from 10am to 4pm and there is no upper or lower age limit for men who want to go along.
