Humpty Dumpty managed to avoid a big fall - but only just - when he held court for children at Basildon's Eastgate shopping centre in a week of nursery rhyme fun.
Parents can carry on shopping through the tail end of the Easter break while their children are entertained by characters from English verse.

Promotions manager Mike Horton said: "We've got Humpty Dumpty walking all over the store, and he's got a loud and bellowing voice to talk to the children."
Today children were being entertained by comical chef the Pie Man - Simple Simon's friend - who was putting on a culinary show in the area under the escalators.
Children will be encouraged to help Little Bo Peep find her missing flock tomorrow, with model sheep all around the shopping centre.
There will be six sheep somewhere in the mall for the children to find.
