A tour of the cells and a prison van are among the attractions at an open day with a difference this weekend.
Southend Magistrates Court is throwing open its doors on Saturday to give the public a behind-the-scenes look at the county's magistrates courts.
There will be mock trials, open forums for visitors to ask questions, a tour of the cells, and a prison van.
Representatives from the Essex Magistrates' Courts Committee, the Probation Service, the Crown Prosecution Service, Essex Police, and many other organisations who will all be explaining the role they play in supporting the judicial system.
The open day at the court in Victoria Avenue, Southend, is free and is from 10am until 4pm. Children are welcome if accompanied by an adult.
