A Colchester child seriously injured in a collision with a car was this morning still fighting for his life.
The six-year-old boy was taken to Colchester General Hospital after suffering serious head injuries when he was involved in the collision.
It happened while he was riding a bike near his home in Eldred Avenue, Shrub End, at about 3.20pm on Good Friday.
The youngster was later transferred to intensive care at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge.
An Essex Police spokesman said this morning that the six-year-old, who has not been named, remained in a critical condition.
Anyone who saw the crash or has information which could help the investigation should call the road policing unit in Stanway on 01206 762512.
Two people, a 17-year-old woman and a 28-year-old man, were arrested on suspicion of failing to stop after an accident then released on bail for further enquiries.
