Proud mums are celebrating after learning work will finally start to get a site ready for a toddlers' playground.
The mums have had their hearts set on having a playground at the Crossways, Jaywick, since the Surestart scheme was started in their area three years ago.
Maryon Pape, a member of the management board at Surestart and a member of the parents' forum, said: "We are very pleased and excited and cannot wait for it to happen."
She said it was a big achievement for everyone involved. Surestart is a scheme which aims to improve the quality of life for families with pre-school children in the Jaywick and west Clacton area.
The cost of the project, which is being met by Surestart, is £40,000.
