Three extra flats are being planned for a controversial scheme on the site of a former woodyard in Fairfax Drive, Westcliff, it has been revealed.
It is the latest in a number of amended schemes for the site, which has been derelict for a number of years and the subject of several arson attacks.
Pressure group The Residents of Westborough has supported development of the site but wants to see community facilities as well as houses and flats built there.
The new proposals, which are being recommended for approval at the development control committee on Wednesday, would increase the number of properties from 47 to 50.
Technical services director David Watts said issues about overdevelopment and lack of facilities in the area had already been agreed in principle and only the extra three flats had to be considered by the committee.
Mr Watts said there had been 26 letters of objection on similar grounds to those which had been put forward over previous schemes for the site.
Members are being recommended by Mr Watts to approve the new scheme.
