A family fun day is being held to help boost funds and encourage more people to join a sailing club.
Clacton Sailing Club has about 150 members but there is still room for more.
Dennis Wood, press officer for the club, said: "Anyone who is interested in joining can, you do not have to know anything about sailing."
He said anyone aged eight upwards could join the club. There is a cadet section for youngsters and family membership to the club is also available.
For people who are not keen sailors but enjoy fishing, there is an angling club section as well.
Money raised from the event could be used to buy a new boat for training.
The fun day takes place near the club house at Holland Haven, Holland-on-Sea, next Saturday
There will be an inflatable assault course, helium balloon race with a prize for the one that travels the furthest as well as different stalls, refreshments, including a barbecue, face-painting and a bouncy castle.
