Residents in Frinton have given Aussie comedian Mark Little top marks for his portrayal of their town on television.
Despite causing consternation by lighting up a barbecue on the prized greensward, they were generally more than happy with the presenter's visit to the resort in Anglia's Wish You Were Here last night.
"He was a bit naughty to have a barbecue," said Len Brooks, Frinton Residents' Association committee member.
With descriptions like "Beach Hut City" and "more genteel than jolly" Frinton was highlighted for its non-commercial image.
Mr Little walked along the seafront at 7.30pm on a Saturday night and was amazed by the lack of noise and made great play of the fact the town was the last in Britain to get a pub, fought 25 years for its fish and chip shop and played classical music at the train station to keep away the vandals.
However, Mr Brooks said he enjoyed the feature, which he said was excellent.
