Ipswich Town skipper Matt Holland believes 'miracles do happen' and that the Blues can still capture a top-six spot.
Town's hopes of edging into the play-offs were dealt a cruel blow on Easter Monday as Rotherham completed the double over them with a 2-1 victory but Holland remains optimistic that the Blues can still sneak in the back door.
Speaking to the Evening Gazette, he said: "Monday's game was a big disappointment to be honest.
"We did so well to get ourselves into this position in the first place as it seemed such a mountain to climb at Christmas.
"But it's still mathematically possible and until that isn't the case we will still believe we can do it.
"I know it's unlikely, with just two games to go. And it will be a miracle if it does happen, but miracles do happen."
Of Monday's match Holland said: "Rotherham are a physical side and for an hour we played well. But we got pushed back and we were punished by two long throw-ins."
Town must win their two remaining games against Wimbledon and Derby and hope either Reading or Nottingham Forest lose their games.
