Chelmsford police are appealing for witnesses who saw a 23-year-old man stabbed on Springfield estate on Saturday afternoon.
The man was seriously wounded in Springfield Park Avenue during a disagreement in the street.
He and a group of people left the Red Lion public house, Springfield Road, and walked along Springfield Park Avenue, where the attack took place outside no 104 at 4.15pm.
An ambulance took the man to Broomfield Hospital accident and emergency unit where he was treated for serious, but non-life threatening wounds.
