Hundreds of christians joined a silent procession of witness through Maldon to mark Good Friday.
The parade from Maldon's Roman Catholic Church in Victoria Road to All Saints Parish Church at the top of High Street, attracted worshippers of all ages from the town's main churches accompanied by parish priests and nuns.
The High Street fell silent and traffic was halted as the procession snaked through the town centre.

Parents and grandparents walked alongside their children and grandchildren, babies were carried in arms.
Some were accompanied by their dogs on leads, others rode on electric scooters or were pushed in wheelchairs.
A spokesman for Maldon Police, who accompanied the walkers, said the huge parade reached its destination "with no problems whatsoever."
