A new ship was set to make her maiden voyage into Harwich today.
DFDS Seaways' new ferry, Duchess of Scandanavia, was due to arrive at Harwich International Port this morning.
The ship left Cuxhaven, Germany, for the first time yesterday en route to Harwich.
The passenger and freight ro/ro ferry will now sail every second day in each direction, arriving at Harwich at 10.30am and leaving at 4pm.
The ten-year-old Duchess of Scandanavia has been refurbished and has room for 840 passengers. There are two vehicle decks, one for 140 cars and the other for about 50 trailers
