The Essex Chronicle has saved Easter for children at a Chelmsford nursery whose pet rabbit was stolen.
Youngsters at the Care a Lot day nursery welcomed a new dwarf lop-eared rabbit, thanks to the Chronicle and Pets At Home, who donated accessories.
Last week's Chronicle told how children at the day nursery, based at Rainsford High School, were left heartbroken by the theft of Minx.
Staff said that the children had welcomed the new pet with open arms.
Offensive graffiti was sprayed on doors at the nursery when Minx was stolen.
Sgt Chris White, of Chelmsford police, said: "There is absolutely nothing for people to worry about. The person who wrote it is someone with a very sick sense of humour."
