An anonymous Evening Gazette reader has helped bring joy to a little girl whose plight was highlighted in the paper.
The good Samaritan has given £600 to buy play equipment for three-year-old Eva Cranmer after reading about her in the Evening Gazette last month.
Eva, of Lime Avenue, Greenstead, Colchester, has myoclonic epilepsy, a condition which leaves her bones too weak to allow her to stand or crawl.
She needs special equipment to help her develop.
It is believed she had a mini-stroke when she was 11 weeks old and was diagnosed with the condition last year.
The Gazette has been following Eva's progress and her mum, Samantha, had said she was trying to raise funds to help her daughter.
Miss Cranmer wanted to buy a specially-adapted swing seat which would give Eva support while she was playing and give her an opportunity to play with other children.
But after reading about Eva, a woman called the paper's Colchester office to say she wanted to help out and donate the money.
She wanted to remain anonymous.
Miss Cranmer has now bought the swing and said Eva is loving being able to use it to play with her friends.
