Youngsters wanting to build a skatepark have vowed to do their bit for the community around the planned venue.
The teenage team have been working with regeneration scheme Canvey 2000 to set up a £110,000 park near the Waterside Farm sports centre on Canvey. Now they are looking to give something back.
Twelve children will help to paint the island's seafront bandstand and weed the scented garden planted by Canvey 2000 in Western Esplanade.
Charity chairman Dennis Williams said: "We are absolutely delighted the youngsters have offered to help us with the weeding and painting work.
"These hardworking kids want to give something back to the island."
