Children from Brentwood, Billericay, Wickford and Ongar will be showing just how much you can achieve with pedal power when they take part in the Blue Peter Bikeathon.
This is third time bikers and trikers will ride out in support of the appeal to fight leukaemia, a disease will accounts for more than 50 per cent of all childhood cancers.
The event is set for Sunday, May 4 at the Ford Motor Company Test Track at the Dunton Technical Centre in Laindon and is one of hundreds of Bikeathons going on around the country.
Local organiser, John Child, said: "It is really inspiring that so many children are together to fight a disease which affects hundreds of youngsters each year.
"Local children should register as soon as possible to get their entry packs and get cracking on their sponsors."
Last year more than 20,000 children across the UK took part in the event and raised more than £500,000 for the charity.
