The extreme frosts of last week continued to upset sport for the general float fishermen at Doggetts although those ledgering with larger baits did produce some excellent results at times.
Les Sword fished the south bank to the reeds landing his first fish as a new member. Having lost three good-size carp Sword landed a mirror of 18lb plus a superb fully-scaled mirror of 18.7lb.
David Tuck of Rayleigh ledgered popped up corn on the long arm and found tench to 5lb plus an 11lb mirror. With a couple of bream Tuck's bag totalled 38lb.
Southend's Peter Davis found worm and luncheon meat fished over a bed mixed trout pellets and hemp kept the bream and tench happy with 11 good fish to 6lb.
Regular Chris Lyndsay of Westcliff fished a favourite swim on the north bank and landed tench and bream, a mirror of 18lb plus fully scaled mirrors of 12lb, 15lb plus a personal best of 22.8lb.
