A new road safety campaign, aimed at promoting common sense and courtesy on the road has been launched by Essex County Council.
The 'Share the Road' campaign encourages people to be more considerate to other road users. It focuses on everyday situations that occur when driving and shows how the actions of each person can affect their own and others' safety.
The campaign is aimed at all road users from pedestrians and cyclists to motorcyclists, car drivers and lorry drivers.
Chairman of Essex County Council, Anthony Peel, said: "The Government has set robust targets to reduce the rate of casualties and fatalities on the roads.
"It is important for everyone to take a positive approach toward preventing accidents and saving lives. If all road users make an effort to be sensible and courteous, everyone's journey could be an altogether safer and better experience."
