A fake goods trader has been sentenced to two years in prison and ordered to pay £5,000 costs at Chelmsford Crown Court for offences related to selling counterfeit goods and misleading consumers.
Hadji Tourni, of Marlborough Road, Romford, exposed for sale and had in his possession fake goods of well-known designer labels such as Louis Vuitton and Burberry at his stall in North Weald Market.
He was sentenced to 18 months for offences committed in November 2001, 18 months for offences committed in April 2002 and two years for further offences committed in June 2002 while on unconditional police bail.
The sentences are to run concurrently with one year suspended. Besides paying costs, Tourni has been ordered to forfeit counterfeit goods worth an estimated £40,000.
