Popular radio programme Just A Minute is on its way to a south Essex theatre.
The BBC Radio Four programme has been established for more than 30 years. The 30-minute show will be recorded at the Palace Theatre, in London Road, Westcliff, on Tuesday, June 24, to give the venue a boost.
The appearance of Nicholas Parsons and the four panellists who have to try and speak for 60 seconds without hesitation, repetition or deviation, will be the highlight of Southend's First Comedy Festival.
Also appearing during the week - which runs from June 23 to 29 - will be Boothby Graffoe, theatre cabaret trio Fascinating Aida and stand up comic Ross Noble.
The comedy festival is one of the highlights of the new season at the theatre, which was reopend last week after nearly a year's closure.
