An expanding junior school is looking to provide £90,000 worth of new facilities on its site.
Great Clacton Junior School, in Craigfield Avenue, was the only school in Clacton which did not have its own designated computer suite.
Head Phil Tayler said the aim was now to use the library for that purpose, convert an existing classroom into a new library and build a new classroom base.
Plans have now been submitted to Tendring Council for the extension and internal alterations at the site.
"It is a significant scheme costing around £90,000," said Mr Tayler. "It is the next stage of our continuing development but hopefully not the end of the story."
