The woman wrongly jailed for the murder of her two baby sons has thanked appeal judges for their "wisdom and sense of justice".
The Court of Appeal has said fresh medical evidence in the case of Sally Clark who now lives in Chelmsford would "in all probability" make it impossible for any jury to convict her.
Lord Justice Kay, giving the court's reasons on Friday for dramatically overturning her conviction and freeing her from her life sentence on January 29, said the Crown had taken the "right and proper course" not to seek a retrial.
Mrs Clark, 38, was freed after the three judges ruled that her convictions were "unsafe" and that she did not have a fair trial.
The policeman's daughter, who had always protested her innocence, was convicted of the murders in November, 1999.
