Thundersley village will be awash with colour when 20 hanging baskets of flowers arrive thanks to the area forum.

The baskets have been bought with money allocated to the Thundersley area forum for civic pride projects by Castle Point Council.

Residents will be able to enjoy a garden which is set to be created on the grass verge at the junction of the A13 with Kents Hill Road North.

Members of the forum agreed to the projects as well as having two signs saying "Welcome to Thundersley Village - Please Drive Carefully".

The signs are a victory for the members after it was initially feared they would be restricted on the wording.
