Tiptree's Ali Carter is heading into the quarter-final of the Regal Scottish Open tonight, and for once he's not playing the big names.
After seeing off current snooker world champion Peter Ebdon in the second round Carter, ranked 31 in the world, looks forward to a tie against a lower ranked opponent.
Carter will play teenager Mark Selby tonight at 7pm, the 19-year-old from Leicester is currently ranked number 53 in the world.
He told the Evening Gazette: 'It's nice to have draw that has been more favourable.
'It makes a change from having to play all the big names like Ebdon, Williams, Hendry and O'Sullivan.'
