Staff at Pints 'N' Litres off-licence are busy collecting cash to send parcels out to British troops, and have had some demands from the front line.
The store, in the Laindon shopping centre, hope to send off 15 two-kilogram boxes and have already sent eight parcels out.
But Roy Hudson, manager of the store, says letters have been received by friends of the family who have brothers, and fathers on the front line asking for lots of different items to be sent out.
Roy said: "We have been asked for batteries for Walkmans, socks, ear plugs, tea-bags, deodorant, razors, sachets of sauce because the food is very bland, and snacks like crisps and pot noodles.
"All of the parcels contain about £20 of stuff, we have already sent eight boxes of toothbrushes, tobacco and matches.
"We want to continue doing this for another week and send another 15 out."
