Matt Holland has set Ipswich Town a target of four wins from their last five games to stand any chance of securing a play-off spot.
The Blues head to Coventry tomorrow looking to close the six-point gap on rivals Wolves and Reading.
And skipper Holland, desperate to steer his side back into the Premiership, told the Evening Gazette: "It's certainly still possible.
"We've got to win four of our last five games and hope one of the teams above us has a collapse.
"I'm still optimistic because there's enough games and points left for things to change.
"Most teams have got something to play for at this stage of the season and that could be all-important."
Such has been the unpredictably of recent results, Holland admits it is impossible to speculate how many points sides are going to finish up with.
"I've looked at the fixtures and tried to work it out but you just never know what's going to happen," said the Republic of Ireland star.
