Students have been finding their sea legs for a team building challenge.
The epic voyage for the youngsters, who are studying pre-foundation courses at the Clacton campus of Colchester Institute, set off from Ipswich on Monday.
With the help of Maldon-based Cirdan Sailing Trust to skipper the 72ft yacht, the five second years students, who all have learning difficulties, helped man the ship for four days.
Busy learning how to tie knots in preparation, the youngsters aged between 16 and 19 years, had to cook for themselves and get to grips with all aspects of health and safety and sailing techniques.
On their journey with tutor Caroline Gard they travelled through Harwich, Brightlingsea, Wolverston before returning to Ipswich dock.
As they passed Clacton Pier fellow students cheered them on.
Tutor Elizabeth Reynolds said: "The trip has been a success, a totally amazing experience for our students."
