Virus protection masks are being sold in south Essex to defend against the mystery respiratory disease Sars.
The severe acute respiratory syndrome - which presents symptoms including fever, aches, coughing and shortness of breath - has killed at least 85 people in Asia and Canada and has affected at least 2,300 in more than a dozen nations.

A man, believed to be Britain's fifth victim, was admitted to Broomfield Hospital, in Chelmsford, on Saturday after visiting Taiwan.
The Factory Shop, in Luckyn Lane, Basildon, is stocking a consignment of specialised medical masks called "particle filter respirator and surgical masks" intended to guard against the deadly disease.
The company is also preparing to stock the masks at its store in Magnolia Way, Rochford.
Company spokesman Wayne Cantor said the idea to stock the £1.99 masks came after buyers began planning a trip to China later this year.
He said: "We are hesitant about sending our key people there - now with the Chelmsford case, it's creeping close to home.
"The masks will be on display. If there's a need for them they will be available."
Locally, health authorities have said the risk of catching Sars here is minimal.
