Westcliff Hard's seconds ensured their progress in the Men's Senior Cup with a 4-0 win over Great Baddow.
John Harris, Alan Hill, John Handelaar and Jeremy Harvey played for Hard.
Westcliff Lawn drew 2-2 with Essex Golf and Country Club but lost out on set countback.
Bryan Rivers, Alan Kemp, Dave Lambe and Paul Mower represented the London Road club.
Rayleigh's second string of John Blewett, Richard Crews, John Scarfe and Jon Tyson bowed out of the Men's Intermediate Cup following defeat against Whitehall.
The men from Watchfield Road drew 2-2 with the Chingford club but lost the resulting scratch match.
Westcliff Lawn's seconds -- Tim Willcock, Gary Reynolds, Ian McDonald and Taifar Rahman -- also exited the competition after losing 3-1 to Danbury.
Hockley made it through to the next round of the Men's Junior Cup with a 4-0 victory over Westcliff Lawn.
The Folly Lane quartet included Cameron Wiggins, while Lawn fielded Laurie Blaney, Rob Hunter, Ken Poole and Martin O'Dowd.
