Six of the ten empty shop units in Maldon town centre are due to be occupied within the next few weeks, and two more shortly after.
Murray Foster, town centre manager, said: "The number of people wanting to set up in Maldon is increasing and I've got no where or little places for them to go. The situation is very positive for Maldon indeed."
Customers can look forward to a new jewellery shop, photographic studio, nail parlour and tailors.
It will not only be shops in the centre of High Street which will be filled, premises from the very top end of the main road all the way to the lower end are being snapped up.
Mr Foster added: "There's a real cross-section of businesses going in over the next few weeks. With most of them in for Easter."
