Carp catches at Brookhall lake Tiptree have topped the 300lb mark in a feeding frenzy since the warmer weather arrived.
Steve Havard took the staggering catch of 44 carp and bream in a hectic days sport.
Fishing meat and pellet baits he had carp to 14lb and bream to 7lb for an arm-aching days fishing. Richard Watson took over 100lb of carp and bream from peg 36 fishing pellet and corn as the fish continued to feed in all areas of the lake.
The removal of the regular fortnightly Saturday open matches will allow more opportunity for anglers to enjoy the sport on offer. Saturday matches will now only be held once a month.
Carp and bream are showing from all areas and there is no favourite bait at present, with some fish even being taken on floating bread.
