Southend Pier is set to be the finish line for a gruelling record breaking attempt by three plucky rowers.
Paul Gibbons, Adrian Harper and Stever Foster from Tolworth Gymnastics club in south west London are set to row 177 miles in the record bid.
They will set off from Lechdale in Gloucestershire on May 3 and are set for a punishing 38 hours of rowing to try to beat a previous record for the route to the end of Southend's famous pier.
The trio are to go through the ordeal to get themselves in the Guinness Book of Records and raise money.
