Harwich and Parkeston boss Mitchell Springett praised his side's '110 per cent commitment' after they went down 2-1 at AFC Sudbury.
The Shrimpers conceded the winner four minutes from time, having taken the lead through Michael Brothers.
He raced onto a Lee Mills' flick and lobbed the keeper to make it 1-0.
Brothers also hit the bar seconds before Sudbury equalised and Springett said: "We deserved something from the game.
"We shocked them a bit and were on course for a point, until that late goal."
Clacton Town grabbed another late winner as they completed a quick double over Gorleston.
Town, who beat their hosts 2-1 on Saturday, won by the same score last night thanks to an 89th-minute winner from Aren Howell.
It was his second of the night, coming after a neat pull-back by substitute Ian Brown.
Maldon Town failed to hold onto their 1-0 lead at Diss Town and eventually found themselves losing 3-1.
Neil Docking had put Town ahead, but three quick goals in return before half-time sealed the result.
In Ryman League division one north, Wivenhoe Town lost 2-1 at home to high-flying Slough.
But boss Steve Pitt was delighted with his patched-up side's performance.
"We were excellent a vast improvement from when we lost on Saturday," he said.
With Matt Greenley out with a groin injury, Pitt drafted in 17-year-old keeper Adam Wilson and the youngster made some excellent saves.
But he couldn't do anything about the headed backpass from Martin Calver which bounced on the hard pitch and over his head.
Slough added another goal after half-time but Wivenhoe kept plugging away.
Danny Roberts pulled one back for Town before Matt Carmichael hit the post.
